Synopsis
Barnes, the warden of Westgate Penitentiary, is a weak man, hence governing the institution is left to the ambitious and sadistic Captain Munsey. Some of the inmates, including leader Joe Collins, are plotting a breakout. While the escape plan is taking shape, the convicts in cell R17 each tell the story of how they landed in jail. But when Joe and the others try to sneak past the guards a gunfight breaks out and Joe kills Munsey.
