Ignacio Carrillo, a wandering minstrel who has spent years travelling to villages and regions singing with his accordion, decides to make a last trip through the northern region of Colombia to return the instrument to his old teacher with the intention of never playing again. On the way, he meets Fermín, a youngster whose dream in life is to follow in his footsteps and be like him. Tired of being alone, Ignacio accepts his company and they set out on the road from Majagual (Sucre) to Taroa, beyond La Guajira Desert, discovering the enormous diversity of the Caribbean culture and coming across all sorts of adventures and encounters. Ignacio tries to show Fermín a path other than his own, which has brought him so much loneliness and sadness, but to succeed he?ll have to face the call of the destiny that has different fates mapped out for himself and his pupil.
