Shocked by the blind, ecstatic faith of Hadewijch, a young novice, the mother superior sends her packing from the convent. Hadewijch once again becomes Céline, 20, the daughter of a diplomat. Her passionate love of God, her rage and her encounter with Yassine and Nassir lead her off along dangerous paths.
BIOGRAPHY
Born in 1958, he wrote and directed the following features: La vie de Jésus (The Life of Jesus, 1997), winner of a Golden Camera Special Mention at Cannes and FIPRESCI Award in Chicago, L?humanité (Humanity, 1999), winner of the Grand Jury Prize at Cannes and featuring in the Backwash retrospective at San Sebastian Festival this year, Twentynine Palms (2003), which competed at Venice, and Flandres (Flanders, 2006), similiarly winner of the Grand Jury Prize at Cannes. He has also directed around 40 commercials and the short film Paris (1993).
