Synopsis
France, 18th century. A mysterious creature is terrorizing the peasants, leaving a trail of mutilated corpses in its wake. In 1766, recently disembarked from America, Grégoire de Fronsac is sent by King Louis XV to find the beast. On arriving in the region of Gévaudan, Fronsac is openly sceptical about the possible existence of a monster. But it?s not long before he finds interesting clues plunging him into a story set to undermine the monarch?s authority.
