Synopsis
Two unconnected stories: one, the culmination of Nora Cotterelle as she prepares to wed; the other, the decrepitude of Ismaël Vuillard, wrongly admitted to a psychiatric hospital, and on the point of coming out in worse condition than when he was taken in. The two stories come together when Nora suggests that Ismaël adopt her son Elias.
