Actors, like magicians, never reveal their tricks. José María Pou has made an exception on allowing the camera to film him preparing a work in which he plays Orson Welles. The action of Màscares unfolds backstage, in a place hidden from the eyes of the audience where the actor casts his skin to invoke his character. Magic, with tricks, but magic nevertheless.
BIOGRAPHY
Riambau, professor of Audiovisual Communication at the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, has written around 30 books on the history of cinema. Co-screenwriter of several TV documentaries, he adapted and directed the play Su seguro servidor, Orson Welles (2008). Cabeza, with a degree in Communication Sciences, formerly worked in journalism with the newspaper Avui. She is currently a freelance journalist and combines teaching at the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona with cinema. Together they wrote and co-directed La doble vida del faquir (2005), presented in Zabaltegi Specials.
