Nine-year-old Yuki learns that her parents are separating. Her father is French, her mother Japanese. She will have to follow her mother to Japan, leaving everything behind in Paris, beginning with her friend, Nina. Together, they imagine ruses to bring about a reconciliation. Running away seems the only solution. Their new destination is the forest.
