Sandra Bullock and George Clooney star in this electrifying thriller taking us into deepest, darkest space. Directed by Alfonso Cuarón, Academy Award nominee for Children of Men, the movie narrates the odyssey of Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky. But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. Opening film of the next Venice Festival.

BIOGRAPHY

Alfonso Cuarón debuted in 1991 with Solo con tu pareja. His first work for the American screens was A Little Princess (1995), Academy Award nominee for Best Photography and Best Art Direction, followed by Great Expectations (1998). Cuarón returned to Mexico to direct Y tu mamá también (And Your Mother Too, 2001), for which he received yet another Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay. Later he helmed Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2003) and Children of Men (2006), Academy Award nominee for Best Original Screenplay and Best Editing. Gravity was the opening film of the recent Venice Festival.
