La Pequeña Suiza
Zinemira

The film follows the eventful tale of the inhabitants of a fictional Castilian village nestling in the heart of the Basque Country called Tellería, which, after 700 years of history, wants to become part of the Basque territory. When the Basque government refuses their request to join the region, an intriguing discovery in the local shrine leads the intrepid villagers to seek annexation to one of the world’s most highly developed nations: Switzerland.

BIOGRAPHY

Comedy is the field in which the director Kepa Sojo (Llodio, Alava. 1968) has developed his career as a director, starting in 1997 with the short film 100 maneras de hacer pollo al txilndrón. He later went on to direct Looking for Chencho (2002) and Cuando puedas (2003) before shooting his first feature film, El síndrome de Svensson (2006). In 2013 he returned to the short format with Loco con ballesta, earning him the Goya for Best Short Film, and continuing in the same genre with Hileta (2016), which was part of Zinemira Kimuak, Ronda de Poniente (2017) and Khuruf (2018), whose project won an award at the Gijon Festival.
