Proyecta, an initiative organised by Ventana Sur and San Sebastian Festival, will host the presentation to producers, programmers and sales agents of 17 developing movie projects in search of co-production between Latin American and Europe, with the aim of finding film partners to complete their financing and international distribution.
The third edition of Proyecta, to run online this year from December 1-3, will consist of the pre-recorded presentation by their producers in the shape of video-pitches accessible to international film industry professionals accredited at Ventana Sur and one-to-one virtual meetings to promote agreements with the interested participants.
The selection consists of twelve Latin American projects from Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico and Paraguay, selected by Paulo Roberto de Carvalho (Autentika Films), Esperanza Luffiego (San Sebastian Festival) and Clara Massot (Ventana Sur). It also includes the Guatemalan project coming from the EAVE Puentes-Europe Latin America Co-Production Workshop and another Brazilian project from Brasil CineMundi. Completing the selection are three projects from San Sebastian Festival’s IX Europe-Latin America Co-Production Forum: A Tyük / Hen, by György Pálfi; La anatomía de los caballos (The Anatomy of Horses), by Daniel Vidal Toché, and La cercanía (Nearness) by Jorge Thielen Armand.
Among the 17 works presented are nine first or second features, alongside a number of works signed by moviemakers who have participated in recent years in San Sebastian’s Official Selection, New Directors or Horizontes Latinos sections. This is the case of Inés María Barrionuevo (Espectro), Caru Alves de Sousa (Coraçoes Solitários) and María Alché and Benjamín Naishtat (Puán).
Proyecta is part of Ventana Sur, Latin America’s leading audiovisual market, jointly organised for the last twelve years by Argentina’s National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts (INCAA) and the Festival de Cannes-Marché du Film.
