Today, June 15, the San Sebastian Festival opens the deadline for applications to sit on the Youth Jury to decide the winner of the TCM Youth Award at the 68th edition. In total, 75 young people between the ages of 18 and 25 will watch films and vote for the winner.
The members of the Youth Jury undertake to attend the screening of all films competing for the TCM Award, i.e. the titles programmed in New Directors and the first and second films of the Horizontes Latinos section. The result of the votes will be published each day in the Festival daily and on its website.
The jury members will participate in the awards ceremomy at the closing gala of the Youth Award in the Kursaal 2, prior to the screening of the winning title.
Registration, which can be made from today, should be made online on the Festival website by completing a form and submitting a motivation letter. For more information, those interested can write to juventud@sansebastianfestival.com or call 943 48 12 12.
TCM has been sponsoring the Youth Award since 2019. Having been underway for more than two decades, this TV channel featuring movies maintains close ties with the San Sebastian Festival. During various editions it sponsored the Audience Award, special screenings and the Zinemaldi Get-togethers. Furthermore, last year TCM organised the special screening of El último adiós de Bette Davis, a documentary produced by the event reconstructing the visit by the North American diva to the San Sebastian Festival in 1989.
