This year NO FESTIVAL SCREENINGS can be accessed without having collected a ticket beforehand. This includes screenings for the press and accredited guests. You can request your tickets online for all of the screenings you expect to attend in the “Tickets for badge-holders” section of the Festival website (https://ssiffacreditados.janto.es). You can also book tickets at the ticket desk for badge-holders on the ground floor of the Kursaal or collect them 10 minutes before the screening from the ticket office of the corresponding cinema, should there be available tickets.
Once you have made the booking in the “Tickets for badge-holders” section on the Festival website (https://ssiffacreditados.janto.es), your tickets, which will be numbered, will be registered in your badge QR code, meaning that you can enter the cinemas directly. The ticket will be sent to your email address, from where you can download it onto your mobile phone or print it to know what seat has been assigned to you and to enable the ushers to show you to your seat. If you have any problems, ask for help at the badge-holders ticket desk on the ground floor of the Kursaal.
If you decide not to attend a screening for which you have booked a ticket, please either cancel your booking until the day before the screening online, send an email to cancelar@sansebastianfestival.com (indicating your name and the ticket booking code) or cancel your ticket at the ticket desk for badge-holders. If you don’t cancel the tickets and don’t use them, the Festival reserves the right to cancel your tickets for the other screenings. Remember that this year the number of seats is restricted in all cinemas and that failing to cancel means that the other accredited guests and spectators will lose out.
Booking tickets with your name will also enable traceability in the event of an infection.
To respect social distancing, this year the press conference room, setting of the press conferences corresponding to the Official Selection and galas, will have a maximum capacity of 96 seats. If all seats are taken, remember that you can follow the press conference live on the Festival website (www.sansebastianfestival.com) either in its original version, or completely in Basque, Spanish or English. You can ask questions during the press conference by sending a WhatsApp to the phone no. 687969932 and the moderator will convey your question to the film delegation. In the message, you must give your name and the media you work for, specifying who the question is for.
The Press Club room, which will host different presentations to be announced daily on the press notice board, has a capacity of 54 persons. The press notice board, distributed the previous day, will indicate the presentations coming with a live broadcast.
Attendees must not leave their seats to take photographs or for any other purpose than leaving the room. Remember that it is forbidden to eat, drink, talk on the telephone or use a flash inside the room.
After every presentation, the room will be disinfected, as will the equipment used (microphones, earphones for simultaneous translation, etc.).
The anticipated list of press conferences is published in the Press section of the Festival website.
As well as the press conferences, a number of digital events will run every day at the Festival: master classes, round tables... The Festival will provide daily online information about this programme, which will coexist with the usual physical activities.
The interviews will take place by means of the usual channel, through the film’s press agents or the Festival interview service. The interview sets will be installed in the Zubia lounge. One of the sets will be equipped for holding videoconferences. A waiting area will be set aside for the media in the adjacent Elkano lounge.
The list of press agents and the list of films and personalities managed by the Festival interview service can be found in the Press section of the website. You can request interviews from the Festival service from September 14 by logging into “My Festival” with your username. English and French interpreters will be available on request for interviews organised by the Festival.
The Festival provides accredited guests with equipment for television interviews in one of the María Cristina hotel suites. Equipment:

To respect social distancing, the newsroom (Kursaal room 9) will have 20 places, (twelve with computers for editors, three for press photographers and five for those working with their own devices). It will stay open for longer on the evenings of the opening and closing galas.
It is forbidden to eat, drink and talk on the phone in the newsroom, which is equipped with:
To avoid potential sources of infection and reduce paper use, we have eliminated the press boxes located on the ground floor of the Kursaal. In the virtual press boxes on the Festival website you will find information and promotional material provided by the producers (press files, images, audio and video clips), summaries of the galas and the Festival headers. You can access these by entering “My Festival” with your username.
Buses for badge-holders have also been cancelled.
Festival website: Updated information on the Festival activities: programme, live broadcasts and 24h reception of the Festival TV channel. You can also access the list of attendees in the Who is Where section of “My Festival”.
Festival App: available for iOS and Android. Can be downloaded free from App Store and Google Play. As well as information, in the App you will find a programme planner that will help you to schedule the times of the films you want to see, which will appear on your timeline as you add them to favourites; you can also set alerts that will tell you the start time of each screening added to the App. As well as the contents in open mode, you can also use your accredited guest account in “My Festival” to access reserved content.
Every day, accredited journalists will receive a notice board with detailed information on Festival activities and their times, as well as last-minute alerts.
The Festival daily will be published normally this year. QR codes will be available for downloading the day’s copy in the cinemas and Kursaal premises.
The clippings service, located in the Press Office (Kursaal rooms 4-5, from 09:00 to 20:00) will advise you on how to use the virtual press box, to which summaries will be uploaded of the opening, closing, Donostia Award and Zinemira Award galas, among other recordings.
WHAT GENERAL SAFETY MEASURES ARE IN PLACE AT THE FESTIVAL?
To guarantee the protection of all accredited guests and to enable their work, the San Sebastian Festival has introduced the following measures for its 68th edition:
