Bright, intelligent, passionate and free, Eleanor is Karl Marx's youngest daughter. Among the first women to link the themes of feminism and socialism, she takes part in the workers' battles and fights for women's rights and the abolition of child labour. In 1883 she meets Edward Aveling and her life is crushed by their passionate but tragic love story.
Susanna Nicchiarelli (Rome, 1975) studied Film Directing at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia. After a few shorts and documentaries, in 2009 she directed her first film, Cosmonauta, winner of the Controcampo Italiano award at Venice Festival and nominated at the David di Donatello awards for Best First Feature. She later directed La scoperta dell’alba (Discovery of Dawn, 2012) and Nico, 1988 (2017), winner of Best Film in the Orizzonti section at Venice and of four David di Donatello awards. Miss Marx competed at the last Venice Festival.
