Peter Strickland (Reading, UK. 1973) independently produced his first feature film, Katalin Varga (2009), over a period of four years. The film landed the Silver Bear in Berlin and the Discovery of the Year Award from the European Film Academy. The San Sebastian Festival included the movie in its “Eastern Promises” retrospective (2014). Next came Berberian Sound Studio (2012), winner of the Best Director and Best Actor awards at the British Independent Film Awards, The Duke of Burgundy (2014) and In Fabric, which competed in the Official Selection at San Sebastian in 2018. He also directed the documentaries The Film that Buys the Cinema (2014) and Björk: Biophilia Live (2014).
