A film crew embark on a persistant search to find the cracks between two strongly polarised national identities. The successive refusals and silences will mark the way from the Basque Country to La Mancha, home of the first high-security prison built in Spain. A journey with no answers and a single question: How can we represent History when the images are denied to us?
Aitziber Olaskoaga (Getxo, Bizkaia. 1980) graduated in Film and Audiovisual Media at the ESCAC (Escola Superior de Cinema i Audiovisuals de Catalunya) specialising in cinematography. In 2015 she travelled to Los Angeles thanks to a grant from the Spanish Ministry of Culture. There she completed the medium-length film La sonfisa telefónica, programmed at different festivals and which received a special mention at the Jih.lava International Documentary Film Festival (Czech Republic) in 2016. She recently completed her master's degree in Film & Video at California Institute of the Arts (USA), thanks to a grant from the university, where she combined her studies with working as head projectionist in the university cinema. Jo ta ke participated in San Sebastian Festival's Ikusmira Berriak programme in 2019.
