Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Frédéric Cornet (Brussels) has been working as Managing and Artistic Director of Cinema Galeries in Brussels since 2016. Prior to this role, he worked as a Project Coordinator and Programmer for the Heure d’été film festival at Cinema Galeries from 2013 to 2016. Starting in 2016, he assumed the managerial position at the Cinema and spearheaded distribution activities, with a particular focus on showcasing festival gems such as Las Herederas (The Heiresses, Marcelo Martinessi, Horizontes Latinos, 2018), M (Yolande Zauberman, 2018), Tantas almas (Valley of Souls, Nicolás Rincón Gillle, 2019), and Chun jiang shui nuan (Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains, Gu Xiaogang, 2019) , among others.
He curated exhibitions, retrospectives, and masterclasses featuring renowned filmmakers such as Tsai Ming Liang, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Lav Diaz, Pedro Costa and Clément Cogitore. In 2021, he curated an exhibition highlighting the work of Camilo Restrepo from Colombia and premiered his latest film, Los conductos (2020).
In 2023, he collaboratively designed a program with Paula Astorga from Mexico, showcasing a focus on Mexico City and Mexican Cinemas. Frédéric Cornet is also a co-founder of Cineville in Belgium, an unlimited pass for art house cinemas across the country.
