Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Xabier Gutiérrez (San Sebastián) directed the innovation department at the Arzak Restaurant in San Sebastián from 1990 to 2022.
He regularly collaborates with media such as Radio Euskadi and ETB2, combining this work with advising companies in the food and hospitality sector. He is also professor of the Master’s in Innovation at the Basque Culinary Center.
He has published sixteen cookery books and five essays on culinary aesthetics, ten of which have landed awards such as the Premio Nacional de Gastronomía 2005 and the Best World Cookbook Award in 2006, 2008 and 2023.
He also writes noir novels set in the world of gastronomy: El aroma del crimen (Destino, 2015), El bouquet del miedo (Destino, 2016), Sabor crítico (Destino, 2017), De entre el humo (Destino, 2019), El refugio de las mariposas (Destino, 2022), El juego de la muerte.
