Juan Pablo Miller (Buenos Aires) embarked on a degree in Social Communication at the UBA in 1997 at the same time as starting to work in film production.
In 2009 he founded his own production company, Tarea Fina. Among his first co-productions is Las acacias (Pablo Giorgelli, Horizontes Latinos, 2011), winner of the Caméra d’Or at Cannes and of the Horizontes Award in San Sebastián.
Since then he has produced more than 35 films, more than half of which are debuts, particularly including Ciencias naturales (Matías Lucchesi, Special Mention from Horizontes Latinos, 2014), Las buenas intenciones / The Good Intentions (Ana García Blaya, New Directors, 2019), Sublime (Mariano Biasin, Horizontes Latinos, 2022), Alemania (María Zanetti, Horizontes Latinos, 2023), El llanto / The Wailing (Pedro Martín Calero, Official Selection, Silver Shell for Best Director, 2024) and Hijo mayor (Cecilia Kang, Horizontes Latinos, 2025).
He has also produced films by acclaimed directors such as Paula Hernández: Los sonámbulos / The Sleepwalkers (Horizontes Latinos, 2019), Las siamesas (2020), Un amor (2011); Ariel Rotter: La luz incidente / Incident Light (2015), Un pájaro azul (2023); Natalia Smirnoff: El cerrajero / Lock Charmer (2014), La afinadora de árboles (2019); Pablo Giorgelli: Invisible (2017); Inés Barrionuevo: Julia y el zorro / Julia and the Fox (New Directors, 2018); and Gaspar Scheuer: Samurai (2012), Delfín (2019).
His productions have premiered at leading festivals around the world. Tarea Fina continues to promote projects that explore new narrative forms.
