Nest, the international gathering for film students at the San Sebastián Festival, continues the spirit of the First Meetings of Film Schools, held in 1960. This edition will feature fourteen short films selected from a record 503 entries by 232 schools across 61 countries. This diverse and unpredictable map of emerging voices explores family ties, identity, displacement, desire, new masculinities, rural childhoods, gender-based violence and other contemporary concerns. From 21 to 25 September, students will screen their work, exchange ideas and meet established filmmakers and industry professionals through screenings and conversations. Their films will compete for the €10,000 TabakaleraNest Film and Audiovisual Lab Award. Since 2002, Nest has welcomed over 1,000 filmmakers and become a platform for new talent and future international careers.
