Today the San Sebastian Festival opens its call for submissions for WIP Latam, the work in progress whose goal is to support Latin American film production with a view to the completion of films at the post-production stage.
The San Sebastian Festival Selection Committee will select up to six films from among all those submitted, which must have a run-time of more than 60 minutes and be produced in the majority by production companies from Latin American countries. The deadline for submissions is July 1.
WIP Latam will be held on 21, 22 and 23 September, coinciding with WIP Europa and the Europe-Latin America Co-Production Forum.
Many of the filmmakers who have recently participated in WIP Latam, such as Fernando Eimbcke, Fernanda Tovar, Iván Fund or Lola Arias, have premiered their works at the San Sebastian Festival and at other festivals of the international circuit. For more information, please consult here.
AWARDS
The WIP Latam Industry Award. Given by the companies A Contracorriente Films, Deluxe Content Services Spain, Elamedia Estudios, Laserfilm Cine y Vídeo, Nephilim Producciones and Pecera Estudio consists of the post-production of one of the films screened until obtaining a DCP subtitled in English and its distribution in Spain.
The EGEDA PLATINO INDUSTRIA Award for best WIP Latam. Coming with 30,000 euros net for the majority producer of the winning film.
