Tomorrow, 18 August, at 10.00 am, tickets will go on sale for showings at the Velodrome during the San Sebastián Festival’s 74th edition, to run from 18-26 September. Moreno participated in Zinemira-Kimuak with Bucle (2011) and Cólera (2013). His other films are Ventajas de viajar en tren (Advantages of Travelling by Train, 2019) and Moscas (2023).

The documentary, made in the context of Muguruza’s last music tour, portrays his 40 years of engagement, cultural resistance and songs that have joined the realms of collective identity. The musician from Gipuzkoa has shown his previous works as a director in sections such as Zinemira, where he presented Checkpoint Rock. Canciones desde Palestina / Checkpoint Rock. Songs from Palestine (2009), Next Music Station: Lebanon (2011), NOLA? On Friday, 25 September at 18.30 it will be the turn of Go!azen 13. Itziar Gómez Sarasola (Errenteria, 1964) will return to the giant screen and stage of the Velodrome with one of the star events for younger children and teens. Though born as a TV film, the series is now in its 13th season, with each one bringing new adventures at the Basakabi summer camp.

Tickets for the Velodrome screenings cost 8.75 euros and can be purchased from tomorrow, Tuesday, 18 August, at 10.00, from the Festival website (https://sansebastianfestival.janto.es) and Kutxabank (https://tickets.kutxabank.es). A maximum of four tickets per person and session is allowed; purchases of ten or more tickets in a single operation will receive a discount of 25%. Discounts will also be applied to purchases made using the Donostia Kultura card (only at the box office) and Kutxabank’s Gaztetxartela.
In addition, yet another year the Velodrome will host the Concert & Screening organised jointly with the Euskadiko Orkestra and the SGAE Foundation, to take place on Saturday, 19 September at 18.00. The show combines the symphony performance of soundtracks and a montage of scenes from the films that inspired them. While entry is free, invitations must be collected from the San Sebastián Festival information point at the Kursaal or from the Donostia Turismo office (Ijentea, 1) from 12-18 September. Tickets will also be available on the same day of the concert from the Velodrome itself.
Finally, the Velodrome will also provide the morning setting for Ikastetxeak Belodromoan, an initiative enabling thousands of boys and girls aged from 6 to 11 years to enjoy the screening of a film portraying the connection between the cinema and science. These sessions co-organised by the San Sebastián Festival, the Donostia International Physics Center (DIPC) and the Filmoteca Vasca are intended to give students from schools throughout the territory a positive image of science while demonstrating the city’s strong ties to scientific research.
Furthermore, as usual, on the last day of the Festival, falling on Saturday 26 this year, the Velodrome will host, from 18.00 onwards, the screening of the film closing Perlak, a live broadcast of the closing gala and the screening of the film to close the Official Selection. This screening will cost 15 euros.
