In 2026, the San Sebastian Festival and Repsol celebrate the fourth year of a collaboration encompassing energy solutions, mobility, culture and innovation in a variety of spaces and activities at the event. This year the company increases its contribution as multi-energy partner with actions focused on enabling the mobility of guests and professionals, supporting part of the Festival operations and offering the general public free experiences related to film, music and digital art.

As a new feature, performance of some of the Festival transfers will be optimised thanks to a shuttle running on 100% renewable Nexa diesel. The service will operate from 20-24 September, connecting the Bilbao and San Sebastian airports with different parts of the city. Repsol will also supply some 600 litres of 100% renewable Nexa diesel on which to run three gensets during the Closing Party at the Miramar Palace, an initiative translating into a reduction of up to 1.67 tonnes of CO₂.

This 100% renewable fuel will serve to run official and service vehicles at the Festival. Approximately 1,000 litres will help to reduce some 2.78 tonnes of CO₂. Referring to e-mobility, Repsol will provide two charge points in the República Argentina Street, also offering the Festival’s fleet of EV and hybrid plug-in vehicles use of its public charging network in San Sebastian, including access to the Bidebieta service station.

The collaboration will also extend to solar energy. The Repsol-Kinótico Space will be fitted out with solar panels and the Plaza Okendo will provide two solar benches on which the general public can take a rest and charge their mobile devices.

Yet another year the Plaza Okendo will become the main hub of the collaboration. The Repsol-Kinótic Space will host interviews, conversations and meetings with film professionals in a format open to the general public. The programme will run on two sets, anticipating more than 70 interviews, podcast episodes and round tables during the Festival. The outside space will also be equipped with seats, an information point indicating the daily agenda and a screen on which to follow some of the highlights of the Kinótic programme.  

On 21 September, the Repsol Space will host a special action on the subject of Fernando Trueba’s Bajañí, a musical film showing as one of the Official Selection’s Special Screenings, focused on the guitar and art of Niño Josele and on the coming together between flamenco, jazz and Brazilian music. The proposal will include a talk with Fernando Trueba and Niño Josele as well as a performance by the artist for those attending the event.

In addition, from 18-26 September, the Plaza Okendo will host the first exhibition of PULSO: Inhabit the Energy, an installation from Hamill Industries promoted by Repsol and produced by Sónar+D. The work transforms energy into a physical and sensory experience achieved with light, atmosphere, movement and sound that the public can enjoy free of charge for the first time in the framework of the festival.
