El pisito / The Little Apartment
Rodolfo and Petrita have been together for twelve years. They need a place to live if they're to get married, but finding one is impossible. Rodolfo sublets from Doña Martina, an old woman about to die, something the landlord is hoping will happen soon so that he can empty the house and demolish the building. Friends recommend that Rodolfo adopt a heroic approach: marry Doña Martina and wait out the short time she has left to inherit the lease. At first he resists, but his conviction wavers as time goes by.
