Jordan Firstman will talk about the creative process behind Club Kid and what it has meant to make his first fiction feature after years of directing, writing and acting in short films and series. He will reflect on the challenges he faced and the decisions he made while bringing his first feature to life. The film premiered in Un Certain Regard at the Cannes Film Festival and will now screen in Perlak, where it is in competition for the Donostia / San Sebastián Audience Award.
Jordan Firstman (New York, USA. 1991) is a writer, producer, actor and humourist. He has written, directed and starred in short films including Call Your Father (2016) and Men Don’t Whisper (2017), screened at Sundance and at the SXSW in Austin. He has also written the screenplay for the TV series Search Party. Club Kid, which he also wrote and stars in, is his feature directorial debut and was presented in Un Certain Regard at the Festival de Cannes.
