Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
In tribute to Jennifer Lawrence, who will be recognized with a Donostia Award at the 73rd edition, programmed on a new Zinemaldia + Plus session on the 12th of September is Winter’s Bone (2010) by Debra Granik, one of the first works by Lawrence and the film for which she landed her first Academy Award nomination.
Synopsis: Ree Dolly, 17 years old, decides to look for her father after he offered the family home as collateral for the bail that allowed him to get out of jail and disappear without a trace. Before losing her home and being left homeless in the middle of the Ozark mountain forests, Ree prefers to confront the law of silence imposed by her relatives in order to save her family. Little by little, she manages to break through the lies, evasions, and threats of her kin until she reaches the truth.
