Struggles and misadventures of Lope de Aguirre, with his enormous ambition at the forefront, in search of El Dorado. For more than twenty years, Lope de Aguirre had been fighting and conquering for a king (Philip II) whom he did not even know when he joined the expedition organised by Ursúa. The aim of this adventure was to discover the country of El Dorado, which was supposed to be located at an unknown point on the Marañón River, now known as the Amazon. Ursúa's carelessness in governing the expedition, as well as other weaknesses, led Aguirre to seize power after Ursúa's death. The expedition was abandoned and Aguirre, appointed the new general, set out to return to Peru after disembarking at sea.

Tour of Artxanda, one of the most beautiful spots in Bilbao, discussing its funicular railway, its green areas, its buildings, its farmhouses, its people, but above all its famous San Roque chapel, which, after the damage caused by the civil war, has been lovingly restored by the residents of Artxanda. After commissioning a new sculpture of San Roque from the sculptor Francisco Javier Santos (we attended the process of its creation at his studio in Madrid), it was inaugurated with all honours. The reopening was attended by the authorities of Bilbao and Sondica, and the celebration ended with a fellowship meal.

The phenomenon of transhumance is also evident in various areas of the Basque Country. Since time immemorial, shepherds from the Salazar and Roncal valleys have brought their flocks down to Bardena every autumn, where they spend the winter. Transhumance is an attempt to preserve this way of life for posterity, highlighting its close communion with nature, its most ancient elements as opposed to those of modern incorporation, and the human drama of the shepherds.
