THE ACID HOUSE
Zabaltegi - New Directors

This is a surreal triptych adapted by Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh from his own collection of short stories. The first part (The Granton Star Cause) is a black comedy of revenge, football and religion that come together in one explosive story. The second part (A Soft Touch) is a story of love and betrayal with a hero who is all too easily manipulated by those around him. The third (The Acid House) is a comedy about marriage, babies and an excess of chemical abuse.
BIOGRAPHY
Paul McGuigan shot three documentaries for the series Walk on the Wild Side, featuring young people living on the edge of British society. He also did some travel reports for Lonely Planet and films for MTV. Football, Faith and Flutes, a 50-minute documentary, was acclaimed by the critics. He is presently working on a screenplay about a man in Dublin who wants to be a matador.
