When Benito Lacunza, a 30-something-year-old drunken waster who gets by as he can in Madrid, is obliged to return to his native Estella for a few days, he discovers that his kind-hearted, almost mystical brother Lalo, intends to marry Nines, a single mother with a rough background. Although Benito resolves to scupper the wedding, his plans bite the dust on meeting Nines? daughter, Ainara, a borderline autistic child with whom he strikes up an unusual friendship.Director
