Túneles en el río
International Film Students Meeting

Every summer, over a hundred people disappear in the waters of the River Plate. The people from the Punta Piedras region say that they are swallowed by the river never to be seen again. Juan and his two sons go fishing with trammel nets on the river banks. Danger lies in wait for them as the rapid rise of the river level and deep pools threatens one of their lives.
BIOGRAPHY
The Audiovisual Arts Department is one of the first university film degrees to have existed in America, founded in 1956 by Cándido Moneo Sanz in the framework of the Fine Arts Faculty. Closed by the Military Dictatorship which governed Argentina between 1976 and 1983, the degree was reopened in 1993 following a long struggle by the university community. The Audiovisual Arts degree has 1,500 active students and over 200 teachers, directors and researchers. Personalities like Raymundo Gleyzer, Carlos Sorín, Marcelo Piñeyro, Augusto Roa Bastos and Simón Feldman have all taken this degree course.
