It?s like the storyline of a classic movie: the defendant looks back over his life as the process increasingly develops into a theatrical production. But this particular play has a number of specific characteristics. For a start, the person on trial is neither Jeanne d'Arc nor Alfred Dreyfus, but an abject tyrant.
