Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Elsa Fernández-Santos (Madrid) has a been an arts journalist with El País since 1993 and is currently a film critic for the same newspaper. In 2015 she received the Paco Rabal Journalism Prize for an article on supporting actors.
A collaborator with Archivo Lafuente, she has curated several exhibitions on the subject of counter-culture and the 70s in Spain: Ceesepe. Vicios Modernos; Esto no es Hawai; Ouka Leele. Supernova and Javier Campano. El ojo errante.
She was responsible for editing Carlos Saura’s memoires, De imágenes también se vive, Muñoz Suay Award 2025 from the Film Academy, and in 2024 gave the talk at the Prado Museum entitled Centauros del cine y del Prado.
She participates in the programme broadcast by La2, Historia de nuestro cine and has contributed, amongst others, to the books Francisco Regueiro: la importancia del demonio; Jordi Socías. Retratos; Quijote Liberado, and Clásicas, modernas y extrañas: Historia feminista del cine. She is also the author of La bombilla and Entrevistos. Manolo Blahnik, a conversation with the famous shoe designer, with whom she collaborated in his book Fleeting Gestures and Obsessions in a dialogue between Blahnik and Pedro Almodóvar.
This autumn she will publish Última sesión, about no-longer-existing cinemas based on Campano’s photographic archive.
