The Zinemaldia’s IberoAmerican LGBTIAQ+ Film Festival Meeting, held in partnership with Gehitu, brought together twentythree LGBTIAQ+ festival directors and programmers for a day of engaging discussions, roundtables, and workshops. The key session focused on the “LGBTIAQ+ Label,” aimed at promoting the distribution and internationalisation of Latin American LGBTIAQ+ films. Pilar Toro of Filmin stressed the importance of the label in making diverse realities more visible while cautioning against turning it into a ghetto. The session also sparked debates on defining the label and the value of cinematic quality, exploring collaborations with human rights festivals.
