Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Koldo Almandoz returns with his new series Zeru Ahoak / Mouths of Sky, a thrilling sequel to Hondar Ahoak. Five years after the original, the miniseries brings back Nagore Aramburu as Nerea García, a former Basque Ertzaintza police officer living in isolation in Bilbao. When a woman’s body is discovered in a ritualistic murder, Nerea is drawn back into a complex investigation. The story unfolds in a darker, more urban Bilbao, with Almandoz emphasizing character depth over plot. This fourepisode thriller explores the murky intersection of crime, corruption, and personal struggle. Presented outside competition at Zinemaldia, Zeru Ahoak will soon premiere on RTVE Play, continuing its exploration of Basque noir.
