As part of the Film Talks section, Laura Carreira discussed the potential of film to promote change and shake people's consciences, as well as telling stories that can transform society's response to crises. The Portuguese filmmaker won the Silver Shell for Best Director with her feature film debut, On Falling (Official Selection, 2024). Carreira's intervention took place on September 26 2024 at the Tabakalera Cinema during the 72nd edition of the San Sebastian Festival. Moderated by Amaia Serrulla, head of the Documentation and Film Department, the film talk was one of those programmed as part of the Nest section.
