Anatomía de un instante / The Anatomy of a Moment, the new Movistar+ series directed by Alberto Rodríguez, was presented yesterday out of competition at the Official Selection. Based on Javier Cercas’ book, the fourepisode series addresses the tense and defining chapter of Spain’s transition to democracy during the 23 February attempted coup, focusing on the dramatic image of three key politicians—Prime Minister Adolfo Suárez, Communist leader Santiago Carrillo, and Deputy Prime Minister Gutiérrez Mellado—remaining motionless as the Civil Guard stormed into Congress. This gripping historical episode comes to life through superb performances by Álvaro Morte, Eduard Fernández, and Manolo Solo. Executive producer José Manuel Lorenzo sought to highlight the transition period, a crucial yet often overlooked chapter of Spain’s recent past. Adapted by screenwriters Rafael Cobos and Fran Araujo, the series premieres on Movistar+ on 20 November.
