DAMA, the body responsible for managing the copyrights of audiovisual creators will sponsor, for the third year running, the Youth Award at the San Sebastián Festival’s 74th edition, to run from 18-26 September.
The jury deciding the award is made up of 150 young people between the ages of 18 and 25 years, who will cast their votes for each film after its screening. The ratings and ranking of favourites is updated daily and can be followed through the official Festival media.
The 21 films competing for the DAMA Youth Award are all those screening in the New Directors section and the first or second feature films by filmmakers showing their works in Horizontes Latinos.
The award will be presented on Saturday 26 September, at a ceremony attended by a representative of DAMA, together with a personality from the world of film and two members of the Youth Jury, to be announced during the Festival.
DAMA sponsors the Youth Award for the third year; however, its ties to the San Sebastián Festival are long standing. In recent years, for instance, the body has promoted some of the Thought and Discussion round tables and film talks, also having made the most of the event to give the DAMA Lola Salvador Screenplay Award.
