40 min. Short film
On receiving the Donostia Award in 1987, Glenn Ford said: ?From now on you're part of my family?. It's true, all of the big film names who have come to the San Sebastian Festival over its 50 years of existence form part of a big family related by kinship, profession, friendship, nationality, or simply by having coincided at the Festival. Links offers the spectator a visual game explaining the relationship existing between them all. The protagonists themselves will tell us the story of the Festival based on images and testimonies extracted from a variety of archives.
Max Ophüls

110 min.
A circus director narrates the tragic tale of the life and loves of Lola Montes, of Spanish-Irish origin, a great lover of adventure and cabaret dancer who became the lover of Franz Liszt and of King Louis I of Bavaria. The Portuguese director Manoel Oliveira has chosen Max Ophüls' masterpiece, in a version recently restored in all its splendour, to accompany the tribute being paid to him by the IFFA (International Federation of Film Archives) as part of the Donostia-San Sebastian Film Festival.
Aki Kaurismäki

A man who travels to Helsinki in search of work is mugged and loses his memory, obliging him to start anew, coexisting with the homeless and the outcast. He discovers love and other values with which he is not ashamed to live. A little story about people who still know how to be kind.
Lynne Ramsay
UK - Canada
97 min.
It's winter in a remote Highland seaport in the West of Scotland. 21 year-old Morvern Callar, an employee in the local supermarket, wakes on Christmas morning to find her boyfriend has committed suicide in the kitchen. Going out with her friend Lanna that evening, she proceeds to tell everyone that he's left her and left town. He has left her money in the bank and his unpublished novel on a disc. She changes the author's name on the novel to her own and sends it to a publisher, hides the body in a cupboard, and uses the money to buy a package holiday to southern Spain for Lanna and herself. But the cracks emerge in the girls' relationship and, while Lanna boards the plane back home, Morvern drinks Champagne with two London publishers, being offered more money than she'd ever dreamed of for ?her? brilliant new book.
