In this documentary directed by Álvaro Longoria and produced by Javier Bardem, the actor guides the audience through the complex world of international diplomacy and the geo-strategic interests that have sparked off the Arab Spring, analysing the grim story of the inhabitants of the Western Sahara, the last colony in Africa. The film was premiered at the Berlin Film Festival.
 

BIOGRAPHY

In 1999 he joined other partners in founding Morena Films, producer of several movies including: Comandante (2002), Persona non grata (2003) and Looking for Fidel (2004), all three by Oliver Stone; Iberia (2005), by Carlos Saura; La zona (2006), by Rodrigo Plá; Che: guerrilla and Che, el argentino, both made in 2007 and signed by Steven Soderbergh; Habitación en Roma (Room in Rome, 2010), by Julio Medem; The Monk (2011), by Dominik Moll; and 7 días en La Habana (7 Days in Havana, 2012), by Benicio del Toro, Pablo Trapero, Selia Suleiman, Juan Carlos Tabío, Gaspar Noe, Julio Medem and Larent Cantet. Hijos de las nubes, la última colonia, is his first feature as a director.
