Second solo film by Gabriel Velázquez, who competed in Zabaltegi New Directors with his debut film, Amateurs (2008) and in Official Section with Sud Express (2005), co-directed with Chema de la Peña. This film, which earned the First Award and the Youth Jury Award at the Nantes Cinespagnol and a special mention from the Jury at the Gijón Film Festival, tells three quiet stories about adolescence that come together in a winter river as it passes through a small town.
Salamanca, 1968. Debuted in 1996 with the short En Madison siempre es lunes, winner of the Luis Buñuel Cinematography Award. Another of his shorts, Soldaditos de latón (2001), landed a prize at the Peñíscola Festival. In 2005, he wrote, directed and produced along with Chema de la Peña the feature film Sud Express, which participated in the Official Selection at San Sebastian and carried off the Signis Award. Amateurs (2008) competed for the New Directors Award at the San Sebastian Festival. Iceberg (2011) has bagged awards at the Gijón and Nantes Festivals. He is now working on his second feature, Bulldog.
