A film that competed at the Malaga Film Festival, won the Award for Best Actress at the Abu Dhabi Festival and took part in the Panorama section at the Berlin Film Festival. Fatimetu goes back to the Saharan Refugee Camps in Tinduf (Algeria) when her mother dies and meets up again with her brothers and sisters. She learns that her mothers' last wishes were for her to stay there to look after her sister Hayat.
 

BIOGRAPHY

Was assistant director to José Luis García Sánchez, Eloy de la Iglesia and Carlos Saura, among others, and also worked in advertising. He has directed documentaries about the Sahara, Nicaragua and Chiapas, including Las cenizas del volcán. In 2004 he brought out Cuentos de la guerra saharaui, and in 2005, Agua con sal, which participated in Zabaltegi-New Directors at the San Sebastian Festival. In 2008, he co-directed La Mala with Lilian Rosado. Wilaya competed at the Malaga Festival and participated in the Panorama section at the Berlin Festival.
