Alter competing at the Festival in 2006 with his debut film, Lo que sé de Lola, and winning the Silver Shell for Best Director three years later with his second film, La mujer sin piano, Javier Rebollo is back in San Sebastián with his latest film. José Sacristán plays an aging, dry, affectionate and entertaining hit man, who goes on a 2000-kilometre-long darkly comic journey to nowhere.

BIOGRAPHY

In 2006, Javier Rebollo presented his directorial debut at the San Sebastian Festival, Lo que sé de Lola , winner among others of the FIPRESCI critics' prize at the London Film Festival and Goya nominee for Best New Director. With this feature, starring Lola Dueñas, he completed the cycle of shorts they had started together in 1996. La mujer sin piano (2009) won the Silver Shell for Best Director at the San Sebastian Festival and was named Best Spanish Film of the Year by the Cahiers du Cinéma España magazine, and by the newspaper El Mundo. El muerto y ser feliz is his latest film.
