SPECIAL SCREENING
Documentary about a true occurrence on the south face of Mount Annapurna. A mountaineer, Iñaki Ochoa de Olza, fell ill at Camp 4, at a height of 7,400 metres. For the next four days, climbers from more than ten countries did everything they could to bring him down alive.
Based on interviews and an exhaustive look at his work, this documentary creates a portrait of the artist from San Sebastian, José Antonio Sistiaga. Now aged 78, Sistiaga is one of the forebears of experimental cinematic art.
According to an ancient proverb, "all dresses have their other side". Assuming this, Bernardo Atxaga explains in the documentary the origin of his texts, the other side of his novels and poems. He is accompanied by the images of Juanfe Garces.
The documentary unites the voices of women who work hard for peace in the Basque Country, alongside others who have already marked the path in other places. All of them are different. As a whole they form a powerful contribution to taking our first steps along that road leading to a Basque Country free of violence, a road it would be useless to take without their participation.
A compelling and emotional tale set in the Spanish Civil War, about the loss of childhood, identity and above all, the hope of conciliation. Using innovative animation techniques, the film tells the story of the almost 4,000 Basque boys and girls who were evacuated to the United Kingdom in 1937.
