The Argentinian filmmaker Martín Rejtman competed at the Locarno Festival with his latest film. Early one morning, 16 year-old Mariano finds a gun in his house and proceeds to shoot himself twice without giving it a second thought. He survives. Dos disparos (Two Shots Fired) is the tale of how Mariano and his family react to the situation.

BIOGRAPHY

Martín Rejtman studied cinema at New York University. Dos disparos competed at the Locarno Festival. His previous features are: Rapado (1992), Silvia Prieto (1999) and Los guantes mágicos (2004), winner of the Fipresci Award for Best Argentinian Film of the Year 2005. In 2007, he completed the documentary, Copacabana, winner of the Fipresci Award for Best Documentary at the FICCO in Mexico City, and in 2009 he co-directed with Federico León Entrenamiento elemental para actores. As well as being a filmmaker, Rejtman writes books which have been published in Argentina and Europe.
