Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
EROSKI has come to a collaboration agreement with the San Sebastian Festival to sponsor the EROSKI Youth Award at its coming edition.
“The participatory nature of the award, open to citizens and to the new generations, is strongly in keeping with our cooperative identity”, said Josean Yela, Director of External Relations at EROSKI.
For his part, Jose Luis Rebordinos, director of the Festival, thanked the cooperative for its backing: “It is important for EROSKI, a brand name so deeply rooted in our society, to join the Zinemaldia family and back the efforts made to attract new generations to the new forms of film language and into cinemas to enjoy films”.
Films in the New Directors section and those in Horizontes Latinos which are the first or second works by their directors will compete for this award. The Official Jury of the EROSKI Youth Award will consist of 300 young people aged between 18 and 25, who will cast their votes for the competing films. The result of their votes will be announced daily. The young people will also participate in the award presentation event on September 24, last day of the Festival, at 18:45 in Kursaal 2, also to be announced at the closing gala of the 64th edition.
