Films in Progress, the dual annual event at the San Sebastián and Toulouse Festivals, has opened the registration period for submitting projects at Films in Progress 31.
This initiative aims to help to finish off Latin American feature films that are having problems at the post-production stage. Six films selected by the committees at both festivals will be screened for an audience of professionals so that they may help to get them finished, distributed and screened at festivals.
Films in Progress has boosted the profile of up-and-coming new talents and helped to finish off and market some of the most outstanding Latin American feature films of the last few years: Ixcanul by Jayro Bustamante, Desde allá (From Afar) by Lorenzo Vigas, Aquí no ha pasado nada (Much Ado About Nothing) by Alejandro Fernández Almendras and the award-winning films at the 64th San Sebastián Festival: Rara by Pepa San Martín (Horizontes Award) and El Invierno (The Winter) by Emiliano Torres (Special Jury Award and Jury Award for Best Photography), among others.
Films in Progress has become an event not to be missed by producers and professionals from the film industry in Europe and Latin America.
