Jo Mühlberger started working for European Film Promotion (EFP) in 1999. He plans, oversees and evaluates EFP’s key activities. He focuses on activities linked to producers such as EFP’s Producers on the Move in Cannes, a highly acknowledged activity dedicated to European producers, Producers Lab Toronto and Producers Lab Hamburg. Simultaneously, Jo has facilitated the presence of European sales companies at international film festivals and markets such as the American Film Market in Los Angeles, the Asian Film Market in Busan, South Korea and Filmart Hong Kong. In 2016 he established the presence of European women filmmakers at the Sydney Film Festival, entitled “Europe! Voices of Women in Film”. Previously, he had co-developed EFP’s Future Frames, presenting ten outstanding young directors at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. As EFP’s Deputy Director he is part of the European Film Promotion strategic team, developing new activities to promote the spirit of European cinema and talent around the world. Jo Mühlberger is a skilled mechanic and has a Degree in Sociology. EFP is a unique network of 38 European member organisations representing films and talent in their respective territories. Under the EFP flag, the members team up on initiatives to jointly promote the diversity and spirit of European cinema and talent at key international film festivals and markets.
