The tale of migrating birds is that of a promise... the promise of return. If they set out on journeys of thousands of kilometres strewn with danger, if they fly over the highest mountains, vast oceans and burning deserts, it is in response to a need: survival. Some fly day and night, arriving at their promised land on the verge of exhaustion. They guide themselves by the sun and the moon, and are as sensitive to the earth's magnetic field as a compass needle. Cinema has the power to satisfy, like no other, the desire to fly so keenly felt down through the ages by the human being. This film will permit the spectator to enjoy a bird's-eye view of the world.

Chihiro is a capricious, headstrong, 10 year-old girl, who believes the entire universe should give in to her every whim. When her parents, Akio and Yugo, tell her they have to move house, she is furious. As they depart, she clings to the memory of her friends as much as to a bunch of flowers, the last trace of her old life. Arriving at the end of a mysterious cul-de-sac, the family is confronted by an immense red building in which an endless tunnel gapes like a gigantic mouth. The tunnel leads to a ghostly town, where a sumptious banquet is waiting. Akio and Yugo fall upon the delicious food ravenously, but are transformed into pigs as their daughter looks on. They have unwittingly entered a world inhabited by ancient gods and magical beings, ruled by the mean witch, Yubaba.

International top secret agents Gregorio and Ingrid Cortez, supposedly retired to raise their children, return briefly to the business only to be kidnapped by the enemy. Not only that, but seven of the best agents from the Strategic Services Office (SSO) have disappeared. Suspicion falls heavily on the technology hotshot, Fegan Floop, who may be using some kind of unprecedented conversion or metamorphosing contraption. The fate of the Cortez team - and perhaps of the entire world - seems to depend on the courage and actions of two people: Carmen and Juni Cortez, principally trained by primary school and video games. Among their gadgets are self-propelling backpacks, microlight aircraft, submarines in the shape of a pod, electroshock chewing gum and, above all else, their young, inventive minds and love for their parents.
