Arrugas is an animated 2D feature for adult audiences based on the acclaimed comic of the same name by Paco Roca (National Comic Prize 2008). It tells us about the friendship between Emilio and Miguel, two elderly men who live in an old folk?s home. Emilio, who has just moved into the home and is showing the first signs of Alzheimer?s, is helped by Miguel and other residents to keep him from being moved to the top floor of the home, the much-feared storey for the ?assisted?, the label pinned on hopeless cases. Their mad plan injects comedy and tenderness to tedious everyday life in the home because, even if for many of them their lives had come to an end, for these fellows a new one has just begun.
