Dolores Meijomín
Thursday, September 24th, 2015

She started in the world of audio-visual production by chance when she worked for the Galician regional government. Despite the fact that these haven’t been the best of times, they are now starting to reap the rewards on the international scene.” There are more and more co-productions and a greater awareness that as well as making films, they need to give a lot of importance to marketing and distribution. It’s a cultural product but it’s also an industry.”

Although she can’t understand them, Dolores Meijomín loves watching films in Basque because of the musical quality that she says the language has; she thinks it’s a really appropriate language for films. She thinks that nowadays it doesn’t matter what language you film in. “Bearing in mind how people here take bilingualism for granted, why not reflect this in films?”
