Peter Sollett (New York, 1976) studied at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. There, he made the medium-length film Five Feet High and Rising as a graduation project in 1998 with Eva Vives, winning awards at Sundance, Cannes and South by Southwest, among others. Two years later, he made Raising Victor Vargas, a film that continued the story of the two people in Five Feet High and Rising, and which landed nominations for accolades at the Viennale, San Sebastian and the Independent Spirit Awards.
